Edwards as well as O'Neil Among Wolves Managerial Contenders

Edwards and O'Neil represent the initial names under consideration to succeed the former manager as head coach of Wolves.

Pereira was sacked on Sunday following the squad's 10-match winless beginning to the top-flight campaign.

And Edwards and O'Neil - both of who have previous links to the team - are among the options to be evaluated by the club ownership.

The manager is presently at another club, which would create a possible hurdle to his appointment at Molineux.

The mid-career manager is said to have support from the club board as they start the process of appointing a fresh head coach.

Gary O'Neil is also emerging as a unexpected candidate, even though he would be a shock appointment given he was released by the club in the previous winter.

The former West Ham player is out of work which means Wolves would not be required to provide any buyout fee.
