The Streaming Platform is Producing a Popular Game TV Series from the Minds of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The latest action-packed title that gamers experienced was Far Cry 6, which showcased Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and debuted on October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is known for delighting in chaos and madness with the same glee, all while presenting engaging, ideologically themed stories. No wonder then that FX's recent announcement for a Far Cry seasonal program pulled in two producers whose projects have exemplified all of those qualities.

What to Expect

Inspired by Ubisoft's hit video game property, the self-contained anthology series will be available on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The series will also parallel the video games' structure by featuring a new setting and group of personalities in every instalment.

Creative Minds

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as showrunners on the series through their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had excellent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is original, engrossing, and extremely entertaining. We also want to appreciate our partners at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this beloved property.”

What’s Next

Mac will also feature in the show, but currently, we do not know what role that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago renewed for more episodes, with FX and Disney finalizing a new overall deal with the producer.

“Being able to collaborate alongside Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably generous, entrusting us with one of the most renowned video-game universes ever created. And through it all, my FX family constantly supports me with their constant confidence and support.”

“What I love about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an standalone program. Each game is a interpretation of a theme, the same way every run of Fargo is a version on a story,” explained Hawley. “To produce a big action show that can change from season to season, while always examining the nature of society through this multifaceted and turbulent lens, is a dream come true. I’m thrilled to work with Rob and present our mutual irreverent, ambitious sensibility to the television.”

A time frame for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
